Barge Service:
The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway bisects the region in Pickens County. The Bevill-Hook Port offers ready access to the waterway via numerous shipping companies located along the Tenn-Tom. The Tenn-Tom provides shipping opportunities from the Gulf of Mexico and the Port of Mobile to the south, to Chicago and the Great Lakes to the north. The waterway is maintained to a minimum depth of nine feet with locks accommodating an eight-barge tow.
